Pre-order the new album Arm in arm now

The new album: Arm in arm

Amsterdam will release their next album Arm in arm on St Patrick’s day, 17 March 2008 – and it is available to pre-order now.

Arm in arm is garnishing wonderful reviews all over the place – you can read the reviews as they come in on the forum.

The band’s first studio album since 2005’s debut, The journey, Arm in arm follows their recent appearance in the Covers and Collaborations – The Number One compilation CD to celebrate Liverpool’s status of European Capital of Culture for 2008.

Whilst working on Arm in arm, Amsterdam’s front man Ian Prowse contacted Irish legend Christy Moore to ask if he might narrate a poem he’d written for the fourth track on the album, Nothin’s Going Right. The great man agreed and, befriending Prowse in the process, guided the singer through the making of the long-player.

The first track on the album, Home has already attracted the attention of BBC Radio 2’s Janice Long who hosted a new session with Amsterdam in December and the song has also been adopted by Liverpool FC who are regularly playing the single at home games.

A full UK tour is still to be announced but Arm in arm will be launched at two very special live dates in March – Liverpool’s Cavern on Saturday 15th and London’s Borderline on Wednesday 19th.
