Amsterdam will play their biggest gig yet on Monday 29 August in Liverpool at a FREE festival down at the Pier head right infront of the famous Liver buildings.

The show is part of the annual Mathew Street festival which usually attracts 250,000 people and this is the first year that ‘real bands’ have been included. Others confirmed include The Stranglers, The Buzzcocks and some very special guests to be announced.

Our heroes will be onstage at about 3:00pm prime time Monday afternoon. The band are very happy that this is the first time that under-18 fans can watch the band…and it’s FREE!

An exclusive video download of Joe’s Kiss is now available for Amsterdam fans to watch.

The track, which was recorded live on BBC Radio 2 for the Janice Long show earlier in the year, is accompanied by live footage and photos of the band. Download this exclusive now!

The original version of the song appears on debut album The Journey, which appeared in shops this week and can be ordered from Amazon or Townsend.

Meanwhile, the next single lifted from the long-player will be Takin’ on the World, an extremely popular choice with fans, band members and industry people alike. Release is pencilled in for September.

The DVD made for the Merseyside single and the London Garage gig that was filmed will also be available at some point in the near future.

The first official album from Amsterdam is available in the shops right now. The record is called The Journey and is availabe on CD and vinyl on the Beat Crazy label.

As a further taster for debut album The Journey, Amsterdam track Joe’s Kiss is to appear on a free compilation CD to be given away with Word magazine next month.

The track, about the late Clash frontman, is seen as the centrepiece of the album and a moving part of the Amsterdam live experience.

Also, look out for a video of a live performance of Joe’s Kiss, due to appear on this site soon, along with details of when the new issue of the magazine hits the shelves.

Meanwhile, new fans can download live standard Nostagia from the downloads area of this site. The song is also lifted from the debut album, released on June 27.
