The boys have been rehearsing hard and the news is they are literally bursting to get out there again and prove once again no one can touch the live Amsterdam show.

Downloading situation delays single again

Following the changing of the rules concerning downloads now being eligable towards chart positions, Amsterdam have been forced to put the release of the second single back again. The new (and definately final) release day is Monday 30 May.

We shall bring information how to actually download the single shortly. Meanwhile you can pre-order the three formats which include three brilliant unreleased songs from Townsend and HMV.

Triumph on the Janice Long show

Amsterdam did a storming two-song acoustic set on Tuesday night at BBC Radio 2 in Birmingham in the studio they actually record The Archers!

Janice danced and sang along as the boys did their stuff and then had a lengthy chat on air about all things Amsterdam. Ian revealed the sources and inspirations for the two songs Does This Train Stop on Merseyside? and the fabulous Joe’s Kiss and Janice said they had never had so many emails requesting songs.

Afterwards even the newsreader came in to say she loved it and the response from across the country was amazing. For the next six days you can listen to the show in the BBC Radio 2 listen again archive at www.bbc.co.uk/radio2.

Meanwhile, make sure you get your ticket for the filming of the first official live DVD of the boys at the Garage in London on Friday 13 May. The film is being especially made by award winning film makers Digital Sneakers and another wild night out in London town is promised by the UK’s best live band.

The evening is a special BEAT CRAZY records night and support comes from Ricky, Corporation blend and Nebraska. Get your tickets for the biggest Amsterdam headline show yet now from Mean Fiddler or See Tickets.

You can also read an interview with the band in issue one of the Beat Crazy magazine in PDF format.

Ask Janice!

The boys are still undecided which songs they will be playing on the Janice Long show on BBC Radio 2 this coming Tuesday night. Email your requests from The Journey album to Janice with any comments you want about your favourite rock and roll band. Here’s a reminder of the tracks on the debut album:
1. Intro
2. Takin on the World
3. The Glorious Day
4. Nostalgia
5. The Journey (full version)
6. You’re a Phoney
7. The Gangster
8. Love Phenomenon
9. Does This Train Stop on Merseyside?
10. John
11. Joe’s Kiss

The boys will be on live just after midnight and the session is an acoustic one now because the BBC has moved from Pebble Mill to a new building.

Also we can announce that Dr Kevin Spurgeon will be playing the keyboards on the forthcoming tour. Yes, he really is a docter (this time) and he got the job after just four bars rehearsal of The Glorious Day!
