2010’s two big shows coming up!

The ONLY two UK Amsterdam shows of this year are coming up fast.

Firstly Amsterdam play at the Stanley Theatre on Saturday 23rd October for the Liverpool Irish Festival. This show is a co-headline with Irish legend Damien Dempsey.

Opening up the show will be Dan Donnelly brilliant Irish singer songwriter from Belfast. Amsterdam will be augmented by Eric Nockalls and Wayne Morgan as well as a very special guest.

Following this show the gang return to their London home for a hell of a show at the Borderline club in Soho. The full 7 piece will light the capital city up with one of those legendary Saturday nights.

This gig is on Saturday 6th November and also includes the Kevin Critchely Outfit and the brilliant Nasher from 80’s chart toppers Frankie Goes to Hollywood.

Johnny Barlow weekend

If you are at a loose end this weekend why not get along to one of the two launch shows for Johns first ever solo album.

Tonight is at the Water Rats in London with tomorrow’s show taking place at the Zanzibar club in Liverpool. You can pay on the door at both events and ‘The Fosse Way’ will be available at both gigs.

Support for tomorrow night comes from Paulie’s new band The Last Gambados, Alan O’Hare, The Garys and Kevin Critchely.

The Fosse Way contains ten original Barlow gems beautifully represented on his CD. The album is available to Amsterdam fans this Friday 27 August from www.johnnybarlow.com

Ian to play Taunton Festival on 4 September

FARMAGEDDON is a mini festival happening in Knapp Farm in Taunton on the 4th of September 2010 featuring some the finest acoustic music on the live circuit in Britain at the moment. There will be free camping and car parking included in the £20 ticket price and there will be full catering and bar service provided on site. Highlights of the lineup include,

Hazaar are an eclectic group of musicians have gathered together to pay homage to the music of the traveling people, in particular the Jewish and Gypsy cultures. But Hazaar just want to make you laugh, cry and most of all to DANCE

Miles Hunt and Erica Nockalls are the Lead singer and violin player with hugely popular alternative rock band THE WONDERSTUFF. With a live album and two studio albums now under their belt, the duo regularly tour the length and breadth of the UK, playing to both smaller audiences and large festival crowds alike supplying a mix of tracks from Hunt’s entire career, alongside inter-song banter and some explanations into the stories behind the songs.

IAN PROWSE is one of Liverpool’s treasured songwriters. Having formed 2 successful bands, PELE and AMSTERDAM, he has been writing and performing for over 20 years notching up numerous chart hits all over the globe. Ian’s classic song “Does This Train Stop On Merseyside” has been covered by Christy Moore recently to critical acclaim, he is a seasoned live performer that always gives 110% live.

REV HAMMER is a folk rock troubadour that is loved by many across Europe. He has toured and recorded with THE LEVELLERS and NEW MODEL ARMY to name a few. His unique Folk concept album “Freeborn John” was a national success that led to a touring theatrical production that packed theatres across the country. His solo live show is entertaining and funny as well as touching and sincere.

DAN DONNELLY has been playing since a young age and has had success in both Europe and America. He has toured with SETH LAKEMAN, THE LEVELLERS, AIR, TURIN BRAKES and THE OYSTERBAND to name a few of many. His previous band Watercress topped the Irish indie chars numerous times and he plays constantly all over the globe.
