The Glorious return of Amsterdam DVD

The first official Amsterdam live DVD ‘The Glorious return of Amsterdam’ will be available from Friday 17 May and will be launched at the up-and-coming Liverpool Sound City Show at Liverpool University.

The DVD will be available for just £9.99 via the Paypal system here on the Amsterdam website.

The disc includes a pre-gig interview and 15 blinding songs including an 8 minute Name and number, a stunning Twist and shout and a glorious Feels like growing up.

Orders will be taken on May 17 and you will receive you DVD within 5 working days.

Tickets for the launch show are available now on this site for an unbelievable £8.

Full Sound City line up announced

Due to technical difficulties with erecting a Marquee, the Sound City headlining show on May 21st has been moved to Liverpool University Stanley Theatre.

The fantastic line up now includes Sean Francis Butler & The Stunards (ex-Sonic hearts), Jack Roberts (Bingo Brothers), Digsy and the Sums and Strawhouses. All for just £8. Tickets available now from ticketweb.co.uk.

The band are particularly pleased to have Jack Roberts playing the show. An old friend of Ian’s, Jack is a legend on Merseyside. Listen to him at myspace.com/jackrobertsliverpool

The Stanley theatre is where Joe Strummer played his last EVER show on November 22nd 2002 so Amsterdam are thrilled to be treading the same boards.

UK tour starts tomorrow

The boys and girls will begin their first UK tour in 16 months this Friday at the Oxford O2 Academy.

To follow the tour shenanigans Ian will be keeping a diary especially for the Liverpool Echo blog which can be seen on our very own forum. The gang will be onstage at 8 o’clock.

Also for those who are coming to one of these shows the brilliant DVD filmed recently at the O2 Academy in Liverpool will be available to you first! An official release date will be announced very shortly.

Amsterdam invited to play Liverpool Sound City

Liverpool Sound City 2010

The band are very excited to have been specially invited to play this years Liverpool Sound City for the first time.

This years four day event includes Gil Scott Heron, The Macabees and Ian McCullough as well as hundreds of other shows across the city.

Amsterdam will perform in a specially erected marquee called ‘The Church of Sound City’ which will be on Seel Street opposite the Zanzibar club.

Very special guests on the night will be Digsy and the Sums who are one of the very best bands on the Liverpool scene. The show will take place on Friday 21 May.
