Amsterdam bass player Paulie will be doing a solo acoustic gig on Thursday 19 July at Liverpool’s 3345 Parr St, a regular haunt of band members and local musos alike.

The set will feature a mix of Paulie’s own songs, with a couple of classic Amsterdam tracks thrown in for good measure.

Entry to the gig is FREE, and kicks off at around 9pm.

Amsterdam have been asked to be special guests at the forthcoming OMD hometown show at the Summer Pops festival in Liverpool on Saturday 21 July.

The 4,000-capacity arena show will be the boys’ first appearance in the Pops since they supported Elvis Costello.

Ian also revealed the title of the forthcoming Amsterdam album in Monday’s edition of the Liverpool Echo. The new long player will be called Arm in Arm after track three on the CD.

So far we’re looking at a mid-September release date.

Ian will revisit the Blanco Y Negro venue on the Costa Del Sol on Friday 27 July for another solo performance. The show will comprise of a solo performance followed by a joint set with Ian McNabb of the Icicle Works. Tickets are €7 each.

The brand new Amsterdam album is currently being set up and the release date will be mid-September. It will be preceeded by a brand new single.

The album title will be revealed shortly as will the actual release date as well as a tour. New songs will be debuted at the two dates on the August bank holiday.

Mathew Street weekend now complete

Amsterdam will unveil songs from the new album at a warm up show for this year’s Mathew street festival on Sunday 26 August.

Like last year the warm up will be at the Red Lion venue in Little Sutton, Ellesmere Port. Tickets will be just £5.

The day after on Monday 27 Amsterdam will play in the afternoon in Liverpool City Centre as part of the festival for the third year running. This performance is FREE to the general public.
