Making up for Mathew Street

Making up for Mathew Street

Amsterdam will make up for the huge disappointment following the cancellation of Mathew Street by playing at the Liverpool Carling Academy on Saturday 15 September.

This night will also see the launch of the first ever live Amsterdam album to be called 1,2,3,4!. The boys then move onto London a week later to continue promotion of the live CD.

Two great nights are promised as these will be the first ever shows the gang have played since expanding to a six piece and finishing their masterpiece album, Arm in Arm.

News, news, news

News, news, news

Amsterdam finally return to the Capital for the first time in 2007 on Saturday 22 September to launch the live album at the Borderline club.

Excitement is already growing as most Amsterdam fans will know that the Borderline in Soho is the band’s spiritual home and it will have been 10 months since the boys played in London.

Tickets will be on sale soon and this will be the boys ONLY headline performance in London this year.

Meanwhile, after weeks of rumour and speculation here in Liverpool it has finally been confirmed that the Mathew Street festival have cancelled the main stage this year and cut the festival by one day. The boys received this communique from the Liverpool Culture company today;

Unfortunately due to having to re-evaluate the Festival this year we are unable to have the big act names as in previous years.

As you may be aware we have lost the Pier Head site due to the Canal Works and have had to reduce the event to two days due to various factors which has all meant that there will be no main stage in 2007.

We are sorry that we are unable to invite you to perform at this years festival, but we hope to work with you again in the near future.

Best wishes.
Sue McAdam
Event Manager

This unfortunatly means Amsterdam will NOT be peforming this year. The planned warm up show at the Red Lion Venue in Ellesmere Port WILL go ahead though for fans who feel let down.

“After 4 months of training (and the blood, sweat and tears that that entails – if you’ve seen me legging it round Clapham Common you’ll understand) I race on Sunday. It kicks off in Hyde Park at 1015 if you’re down that way and fancy cheering me and the other runners on….

“I’d like to thank everyone who’s sponsored me, I really appreciate your support and if any of you would still like to donate to this worthy cause – Help a London Child – then please go to www.justgiving.com/johnnybarlow. I’d love to reach my target and there’s still a little way to go.So here’s to running and raising money to help someone less fortunate than yourselves.
