You will be able to download the new single from this Monday morning onwards from the following download services: iTunes, Napster, HMV, Virgin, Karma Download, Woolworths and Tesco.

Obviously it’s very important these days to download the track because each one counts towards the charts.

So if all the Amsterdamsters can get all of their family, friends, work colleagues and everyone in their address books ready to download this brilliant new single it will boost the boys’ chart position a hell of a lot.

Already we’ve had a very worthwhile campaign with this single and made lots of new and important friends, even BBC Radio Scotland have been playing the single in the daytime which we are told is unheard of!

Also if anybody fancies a short break away the boys are playing two shows on the beautiful Isle of man. The first will be in Douglas the capital on Thursday 8 December followed by a show in Peel the night after. Ticket details coming soon.

The tour finished in Sheffield last night

The boys finished the their fourth tour of the year with another well-received show in Sheffield last night. Again, brand-new song You Can’t Trust the People was a highlight.

Amsterdam would like to thank everyone who came out to support the band on the road, a great time was had by all. Read Ian’s gig diaries in the forum.

If you haven’t ordered the new single make sure you do so in the two fabulous formats, from HMV and Townsend. Townsend are offering a multi-buy deal where both formats can be purchased for a bargain £3.99.

New tour dates announced

The boys will round-off the year with a few dates to celebrate their most successful one yet.

Firstly, the band will be very special guests of Merseyside hero Ian McNabb at the Carling Academy main room in Liverpool on Saturday 10 December. Tickets are already available from TicketWeb.

Then Amsterdam will have their annual Christmas party, but this year it’s going to be at the band’s spiritual home, the famous Borderline club in central London.

This show will be for fans and band alike to celebrate the boys’ success this year and will take place on Thursday 15 December. Tickets are already available from SeeTickets.

Then the boys will pay their last show of the year at in Sheffield at Corporation supporting punk rock legends The Stranglers. This gig takes place on Saturday 17 December and tickets are available now from SeeTickets.

One or two other dates may be added around this time so keep an eye out!

Meanwhile this last gig of the current Takin’ on the World tour takes place this Sunday at The Room (formerly the Fez Club) in Sheffield. The band are onstage at 9.30pm and tickets are on sale now from Aloud.com.

Forthcoming single has also been playlisted for the second week running on BBC Radio 2.

The Takin’ on the World tour headed to the north west this weekend with gigs in Preston and Manchester. Read Ian’s latest gig diaries from the tour in the forum.

If you are interested to hear what the b-sides to the new single sound like, then snippets of the tracks can now be downloaded from the Takin’ on the World page. It is worth buying the single for a copy of You Can’t Trust the People alone, let alone the magnificent a-side!

The radio mix of the track will join the ‘C’ list playlist on BBC Radio 2 tomorrow. Remember to text or email the station if you hear it to tell them how good it sounds.

Amsterdam are playlisted on BBC Radio 2

The band received some brilliant news this morning when it was announced that new single Takin’ on the World had been playlisted on BBC Radio 2.

The radio mix of the track will be added to the ‘C’ list of the UK’s most-listened-to radio station from the week commencing October 3. You can see the new playlist at www.bbc.co.uk/radio2.

Meanwhile, Amsterdam will be doing a short acoustic show this Saturday afternoon at 4:30pm at the prestigious annual In the City music industry event, which this year is in Manchester.

The boys have been specially asked to do a 25-minute slot at South Club, 4a South King Street (opposite Kendalls) right in the middle of town.

The gig is FREE so if you’re in Manchester this Saturday afternoon pop along and have an afternoon drink with the band and toast their playlist success!
